We invite everyone to join us in making potato-stamped reindeer Christmas cards this year. This is an easy festive art activity to make and the cards turn out so cute.
Mashing potatoes is one of those things that most of us did as children. It is an activity enjoyed by many generations; and once you try it, you’ll know why. It’s fun, it’s easy, and it’s just creative enough.

There’s something special when it comes to handmade Christmas cards.
Both making and receiving one are pure Christmas magic.
What you need:
For the card base, we will use light brown construction paper.
Have the child fold it in half to make a card.
Prepare a potato, the star of our profession!
Cut potatoes in half.
Have your child paint the cutout brown.
They can paint it with a paint brush (this is a great option if you are making this at home with a child, so as not to waste paint.
Alternatively, you can pour brown paint into a plate or dish and have your kids dip the potatoes in (this is a great option if you’re crafting with a group of kids or if you’re making a lot of cards).
Help your children print text on the front of the card.
Let the paint dry a bit.
Meanwhile, have your child cut thin strips of brown paper and make a pair of antlers.
Glue both to the brown potato print to create the reindeer head.
Attach two goofy eyes for added cuteness.
Glue a red circle or ellipse for the reindeer’s nose and let your child draw the mouth with black paint.
If you want to add more depth to your card, you can ask the kids to use a large red pom pom for the nose.
All done!
Your potato stamped reindeer tag is ready to spread holiday cheer!
We love how this reindeer Christmas card turned out!
You can make it however you want with different colors!
Merry Christmas everyone!
