How to make printable jungle animal finger puppets

What you need:

  • Our printable template
  • drag
  • glue
  • coloring material (optional)

We recommend printing the pages on heavier printer or craft paper, but they will also work well with regular printer paper.

Step-by-step instructions

Print out the templates and let your kids color them (if you choose the black and white version) before cutting them out.

All printable jungle animals are assembled the same way. We will show you how to make a fox puppet from this kit.

Cut outline. Older children can cut directly along the outline (as close as possible) and there are also dashed lines that children can follow to cut out the puppet.

Make sure the kids also cut out two strips of paper as they will be required to make the puppets.

Next, fold along the three dotted lines along and inside the puppet’s mouth.

Run your fingers across the folds to make them sharp.

The order of the folds doesn’t matter, what’s important is that you get the correct shape once you’re done.

There should be three folds in a zig-zag pattern.

Next, fold the paper strips along the dotted lines.

Apply glue to the paper strips (on the area with the word glue) and stick to the back of the puppet.

A strip of paper (bent into a half circle) above and a strip below the closed mouth.

The red fox puppet is preparing to open and close its mouth.

We love how it turned out and we’re sure your kids will want to make all these cute jungle animal finger puppets.

How much fun is that?
