If you check our site regularly you may have noticed I have a thing for hedgehogs, we already have a “few” hedgehog related crafts on the site and I assure you there will be lots of new crafts to follow.

Since our printable shark puppet was so popular, we decided to make a few more, just so that shark wouldn’t feel lonely, and this printable hedgehog puppet was the first on the menu.

I’m a very excited person to share this with you (obviously a hedgehog fan here), I may be a little biased in my opinion, since I designed this after all, but I think he or she turned out to be super cute. While this one can’t really play with the sharks (I have a feeling one would love nothing more than to bite the other), it will have to play with the other hedgehogs until it’s joined by its other forest friends.

How to Make Our Printable Hedgehog Puppet Using Our Template

What you need

• our printable template – you can find it at the end of this guide
• printer
• paper (regular printer paper is fine, but we recommend using thicker printer paper to make the puppet more durable)
• drag
• glue
• markers or other coloring supplies if you will be printing our black and white template

Any other decorative material is always fun – biodegradable glitter makes everything look prettier.

Or follow this step-by-step tutorial on how to make this printable hedgehog puppet

Print our templates (you can get them at the end of this tutorial).

If you are using a black and white template for this hedgehog craft, color it in before you start cutting. This will make it much easier.

Cut all the pieces out. You can make the strap longer or shorter if needed.

For younger children, it may be easier if you fold the hedgehog (see the dotted lines on the template for where to fold) before cutting out the hedgehog.

Make the folds crispier – we run a wooden stick along the fold to make it crispier.

Cut around the thorn. Gently and slowly.

Glue the strap to the hedgehog’s back (best to watch the video).

Here is what the strap will look like when glued to the puppet.

Done! This printable hedgehog puppet is finished and ready to play. We know your child will love running around playing with these puppets.
