How to make printable sea animal puppets
What you need:
Step-by-step instructions
These paper puppets work well on regular printer paper, but you’re better off using cardstock or other heavier paper.
We’ll show you how to make a sea turtle puppet, but all puppets are made the same way.
If your child wants to make black and white versions of the puppets, have them color the pattern first and then move on to cutting.
Cut off all the parts, including the two finger straps.
At the mouth of the title there are three dashed lines, one above, one below and one in the middle.
Have your child fold along all the dotted lines.
After folding, ask the children to push the middle fold “in”, so the puppet’s mouth will close.
The puppet’s body is ready. Now let’s make the handle.
Take the paper strap and fold it along the dotted lines at both ends. Apply glue on top with the word glue on it.
Then glue it to the back of the puppet (on the folded back part).
Hold it tightly for a while until the glue hardens.
Repeat the step with the second paper rectangle and glue it to the bottom section.
Let the glue dry and then place your finger inside the straps to open and close the turtle’s mouth.
