The fun part about this craft is that you can use a variety of materials! If you enjoy working with a variety of art materials, this is the craft for you.
What you need:
This might be one of the easiest crafts you’ll ever make. Start by folding a paper plate in half.
Continue using scissors to cut the paper plate along the fold.
Once you’ve cut it, fold it into a cone. Don’t glue it yet!
Next, you will take a toothpick and fold it into a “V” shape. This is how you will create the butterfly’s antennae.
Take a piece of tape or glue and stick it to the back of the paper plate.
Once they are in the position you want them, you can glue or staple them together to secure them.
Press down firmly to make sure it stays put as normal!
You will probably need quite a bit of glue!
It should look like this before the final touches are completed.
Use the other side of the previously cut paper plate to cut out two hearts.
These hearts will act as wings for the butterfly. This is where you will draw your own design onto the wings.
Continue painting the body of the butterfly.
You may need to let it dry for a second or two.
Once the body is dry, you can draw a cute mouth and glue on eyes.
Now you can glue the wings as shown below!
Let your Rocking Paper Plate Butterfly Craft dry. Also, don’t be afraid to get creative! There are so many designs you can create and paint on this butterfly craft. The most important part is to have fun.
