If you have a foam ball rolling around and want to make something out of it then this round penguin craft might be just what you need!
We made a cute cotton ball penguin a while ago and now it’s time to make another bird with this cute one.
Round Penguin Craft
When I tried making a cute DIY lollipop bouquet for friends last year, and found it was a lot more work than you might think (I did make one, but it was pretty), I was left with a huge amount of Styrofoam balls that I was going to use sooner or later. So if you’re like me and have one of these lying around (or any other white ball), join me in making a cute little penguin (which is actually quite large).
What you need
- white foam ball (or other)
- black paint
- orange craft foam
- Googly eyes
- glue (preferably a glue gun)
- drag
- pencil
How to make this penguin craft
Start by drawing a border to separate the white and black. I made a heart shape. Now color the black and let it dry (I used masking tape as a holder to make it easier to dry).
In the meantime, cut out the legs (large hearts) and beak from orange rubber. Once dry, glue the legs and beak, preferably with a hot glue gun. Add some googly eyes. Done.
This little guy can easily roll over so this is a fun craft activity to go with the book “How Do Penguins Play?”
