You can watch the video tutorial
We consider that origami instructions are easiest to follow by watching videos, so we have prepared a video to show you how to create these fierce sea inhabitants.
Or check out the steps on How to Make a Shark Catcher
First you will need to print our template for this cute little creature. Kids will love this!
You can print it on regular printer paper or glossy paper (photographic paper works quite well with paper toys like this one).
Once printed, cut out a square of the shark design as well as the fins that go with it.
First, fold the square paper in half to create a crease.
Make sure the fold is sharp – run a craft stick along the fold. Neat and sharp folds will make this origami folding easier. Open up.
Rotate the paper and fold it in the middle. Crease and unfold.
Turn the paper over so that the white side is facing you (the paper side should be facing the table.
Fold all 4 corners toward the middle (see image below for how your project will look).
Turn the paper over – so the white side is facing you and the design is facing the table.
Fold the 4 corners towards the middle again.
Make sure the folds are sharp – run a craft stick across them.
Fold the square in half to get a long rectangle (the toothed edge will be on the inside).
Insert your fingers into the pockets (square pockets) and push the lid up to open the lid to catch the chip.
You may need to wiggle your fingers a bit to form the shark catcher shape.
Once you’ve finished folding your fiercely adorable shark, all you need to do is add the fins.
You can also glue the head and body together so that only the shark’s mouth opens.
