You can make tons of fun Summer Crafts using toilet paper rolls or kitchen tissue and each of them will turn out amazing (see Crab Toilet Roll Craft or Learning Fun with our Printable Summer Quiet Book)

Today we decided to create a silly shark with clenched teeth.

We named it Sharky Shark and we will share it with you right away, so grab your tools and let’s get started!

How to make a handmade shark-shaped toilet paper roll

What you need:

  • 2 sheets of blue paper
  • red paper
  • White paper
  • glue
  • drag
  • The ruler is circular
  • black lining
  • toilet paper roll
  • white marker

Let’s start!

Step-by-step instructions

Shark body

Apply a little glue lengthwise onto the toilet paper roll.

Attach the blue paper.

Wrap a circle around the roll, glue and cut off the excess paper.

Press the remaining blue paper inside the roll.

Fin

Take a piece of blue paper and fold it in half.

Draw a fin with a black pencil (the fold is on the left side of the paper).

Cut the fin and cut through the fold so you have two fins.

Fold the ends of the fins.

Glue them to each side of the roll.

Take another piece of blue paper and draw a larger rear fin.

Cut it out.

Fold the end of it.

Glue this fin to the back of the roll.

Shark skin

Take your white marker and decorate the shark’s body. Draw any shape you like. We drew spirals.

Head

Take a piece of blue paper and fold it in half.

Draw the shark’s head. We drew dashes to show where we need to make creases.

Cut the head off.

Now make three folds, the middle one facing inwards and the other two facing outwards.

This is how the head should look.

Jaw

Take a piece of white paper and fold it in half.

Draw one side of the head with a black pencil.

Draw some teeth around the marked part. We have completed the function.

Cut out the jaw.

Open the fold and cut through the fold to divide the jaw in half.

Outline the second jaw using black eyeliner.

Tongue

Take a piece of red paper and draw the side of the head on it.

Cut this image out. This will be the tongue.

Glue the jaw inside the mouth as shown.

Glue the tongue to the lower jaw.

Fold your teeth at a 90 degree angle.

Glue the tip onto the roll.

The helmet pops up

Take a piece of blue paper and draw a shape like you see on the photo.

This will be a pop-up headpiece and we will attach eyes to it following these steps.

Cut this piece with scissors.

Fold the end of it.

Glue it to the top of the head.

Eyes

Draw two round eyes.

Cut them out.

Glue them onto the piece that just popped up.

Finished!

Say “Hello” to Sharky Shark and make his jaw clench. So fun, right?

Hope you like this project. We also have lots of shark crafts on our site, so feel free to check them out too if you love sharks.
