This simple sunflower egg carton is so much fun to make and the end result is really adorable.
Flower crafts are great for spring (fun all year round) – they’re so pretty and colorful.
This little project is fun for all ages and will make a beautiful decoration for any room in your home when completed! If you’re a teacher and have the opportunity to buy a large canvas (or cardstock) at a bargain price, you could even turn this into a classroom project where every child makes their own sunflowers. mine!How to make canvas crafts from sunflower egg cartons
What you will need
– canvas (or cardboard) – egg carton – yellow, blue, green and brown or black – glue – scissors
First cut out the egg carton – you will only need the “basket” parts (we used 3 but there is really no limit).
Color the canvas with blue and let it dry. While waiting to dry, the egg cartons will turn yellow. Once the blue is dry, you can add some green to the grass and paint the stem and some leaves.
Once the egg carton is dry you can start cutting the petals. We cut off the petals at the end (so the flower looks more even). Now that you’re almost done with the flower, it’s time to add the seeds. To make them look more “seed-like,” we created them with q-tips.
Now all that’s left to do is glue the sunflowers to the canvas – you’ve completed your sunflower egg box craft!
