Spider web tape art is one of the easiest and fun Halloween art ideas you can make with kids of all ages. It’s easy enough for toddlers to make and can be creative enough that school-aged children can enjoy it too.
It’s a Halloween art project that can be done successfully both in the classroom and at home, with one child or a large group of students.

We love sharing all kinds of Halloween art and craft ideas for kids and are excited to add this one to our collection. If you’re doing this Halloween art lesson in class, check out our collection of Halloween coloring pages or how to draw a spider web tutorial to have something on hand for early finishers.
What you need:
For older kids, let them build their own frames for spider-proof art tape. For younger children (toddlers), prepare the tarp/paper in advance and let them enjoy the messy part.
Place a piece of paper or a blank canvas in front of the child. Have your child cut a long strip of tape and tape it across the paper, running from the middle from left to right. Next, ask them to tape the paper from top to bottom. Finally, have them apply two strips of tape running diagonally from one corner to the other.
This is the basis for our spider web art.
Let’s move on to the inner parts of the spider’s web.
Have children cut smaller pieces of tape and create spider web shapes. Depending on their skills (and canvas and tape sizes), they can create two or more octagons.
It’s time to start drawing.
We’re using watercolors for this easy Halloween art, but there’s really no limit to the type of paint your child will use or the type of brush (fingers also make great brushes). . Choose a color (we used purple) and paint a few sections.
Change to another color and paint a few more parts.
Add more color, as much as needed, until all sections are colored.
Once you’ve finished painting the canvas, start slowly peeling off the tape.
All has been done!
We hope your child will enjoy making this bandage with spider web art.
With thousands of crafts, activities, worksheets, coloring pages, and drawing guides to print, you’ll always have the resources you need at hand. Perfect for both parents and teachers!
