Take a spin with this toilet paper roll ballerina craft. The inspiration for this one actually came from this bunch of adorable pirate toilet paper rolls and I don’t really know why but the first thing I thought of was how cute would a ballerina look? How does our mind work?
I’ve made quite a few tulle flared skirts in the past, and the no-sew technique used to make them seemed appropriate for this crafty project (although it’s a demanding job). slightly more precise so it’s not the best craft for younger children – you’ll have to help them out a bit).
What you will need;
- toilet paper roll
- color
- tulle
- rubber band (cooking)
- colors and brushes
- drag
Start by painting the toilet paper roll (pink or any other color, actually) and drawing on the face. You can cut off the bottom of the roll to make legs – I think that looks pretty cool but is completely optional.
Wrap the rubber band around the tp roll (I had to wrap it twice – you want it tight but not too tight). Cut the tulle into strips (mine was less than an inch wide). Make a no-sew tutu by making a “double knot” around the straps. Now if you’ve made a no-sew tutu then you’ll know this exercise – if you haven’t done it easily then no tutu sewing tutorial will help much. However, you don’t need to make 3 layers of tulle for this craft.
