What you need:
Prepare a sheet of black construction paper. This will be the foundation for this winter art project.
Cut rectangles and squares from old newspaper.
Start building the village. Glue the rectangles onto black construction paper.
Your children can also cut out other shapes if their scissor skills allow – encourage them to add a tree to their scene.
Next, cut triangles out of white paper and glue them on top of the rectangles. This way you will make snow-covered roofs.
Use a black marker to draw the windows and doors in your house. You can also ask children to cut rectangles from black paper and glue them onto their scene.
Let them draw as many windows and doors as they want.
Next, have them cut out a crescent shape and stick it somewhere above their village.
Using a white marker, draw some stars in the form of dots and snowflakes. Additionally, children can also use a Q-tip to draw snowflakes or use their fingertips.
To complete your newspaper winter village art project, cut a wavy strip from white paper or white tissue paper and tape it to the bottom, lightly covering the buildings.
Your winter landscape is complete!
What a great idea to use old paper in winter!
