Carrot Wrapped Yarn Craft for Kids
What you need:
- orange acrylic yarn
- Hardcover
- green or natural wooden clothespins (if you use natural wooden clothespins, you will also need to stain them)
- drag
- white school glue (optional)
This craft provides lots of fine motor exercise. It’s great for preschoolers and kindergarteners.
Let’s make some Easter crafts!
Draw a carrot shape on cardboard and cut it out. If young children are doing this project, we recommend an adult do all the cutting.
While you cut out the carrot shapes, kids can color the clothespins (note that some paints may “glue” the clothespins together). We recommend using pre-colored clothespins or coloring with markers or even ink pads.
To make this project easier for young children, cut the carrot shape a few times so they can push the yarn inside – this will make the wrapping process easier for young children.
Wrap the yarn around the carrot shape a few times. If you want, you can add a little white glue to the cardboard (this can be messy – but fun).
Now it’s time to wrap the orange yarn around.
Continue wrapping until you are satisfied with your carrot yarn craft. Tie a knot.
Now, all that’s left to do is add the clothespin to the top of the carrot yarn. Done!
