This yarn wrapped Christmas tree ornament is a great project for both Christmas crafts and decorations for your tree. It’s fun to make and if you’re crafting with preschoolers it’s also a great exercise in fine motor skills.

Yarn Wrapped Christmas Tree Ornaments
What you need
- green thread
- Pom poms come in a variety of sizes and colors.
- Glitter pom poms are optional but sure are fun
- Hardcover
- drag
- white school glue
Cut triangles out of cardboard (this is a job for adults as cardboard is quite difficult to cut).
Tie the yarn around the triangle, somewhere in the middle. You can add a little glue to secure the yarn before continuing.
Add a generous amount of white glue to one edge of the triangle.
Begin wrapping the yarn around the triangle – making sure you wrap the yarn around all 3 sides of the triangle.
Once you are happy with the look of your wrapped tree, finish it off by tying the yarn – knotting it and securing it with glue. You can add more glue to attach the pom poms (if you were too generous with the white school glue earlier, it may be enough).
If you want to turn it into a Christmas ornament, just tie some yarn to the back/top of the Yarn Wrapped Christmas Tree Ornament and you’re good to go.
