There’s no better time for a sweet pun than around Valentine’s Day and one of our favorite puns is “bee mine”. And what better way to get the message across than with a Valentine’s Day paper plate bee mine craft. This project is absolutely adorable.
This busy little bee is perfect for a classroom craft this Valentine’s Day, or if you leave out the heart, you can make yourself an adorable regular paper plate bee.
What you need
- 2 paper plates
- Pink, Red and Black Craft Foam Sheets
- White and black puff paint
- Drag
- Yellow craft paint
- Paintbrush
Lay out an old newspaper on your craft area before you begin. Paint one of your paper plates yellow and let it dry, then cut the remaining white plate in half. From your black foam boards, cut the following: – Three 1/2″ wide strips the same width as the plate – One small triangle for the nib – Half of a large oval – Two 3 x 1/2″ strips and two small circles to place on top as antennas
Then cut a heart out of each pink and red one. Now glue half of a white paper plate to the back of each yellow plate. Glue long black strips to the yellow plate to make stripes for the bees.
Glue your oval half to the top of the plate and glue the antennae to the oval. Draw your bee’s eyes underneath the top of the bee’s head using white and black puffy paint. Now glue hearts onto your bee and write ‘bee mine’ on one of the hearts and let it dry.
What more could you want? This cute bee craft pairs perfectly with this adorable ladybug made from a paper plate.
