We have a super cute Father’s Day card idea! Seriously!
Every good dad deserves recognition and this card is sure to be a big hit.

As Father’s Day approaches, we wanted to share a few more Father’s Day card and craft ideas that kids can make.
If you visit our site often, you’ll know that we like to add a little flair to our creations, so a simple shirt card with a regular bow just won’t cut it (we could have done that too, but we wanted something that stood out).
After much thought, we decided to use some “accordion” magic to give our Father’s Day card some depth.
And we really like that.
That said, we would have loved it even more if this was made in black paper (which we ran out of) because it would have been really classy. Maybe even with a red bow. Super cute.
But anyway this is a great idea for a card :).

How to Make a Father’s Day Card Using a Bow Shirt
What you need:
- a sheet of construction paper in any color you want (letter or A4 size) – for the shirt
- regular printer paper (although construction paper will work too) in any color you want – for the bow
- white paper
- red paper
- button
- glue
- drag
- tick
There are really no limits to the color combinations here. You can also make the shirt more glamorous with gems and sequins.

Step by Step Instructions for Making a Father’s Day Card
Fold a piece of regular paper (we used green paper) in half lengthwise.
Cut along the fold – you will have two strips of paper, we will use one.
Make an accordion (zig zag) fold along the length of the paper strip. This step is best demonstrated in the video tutorial.
Once you have folded the entire strip of paper, fold it in half again.
Apply glue to the fold.
Cut a thin strip of paper (we used red).
Wrap it around the fold, adding glue as you go.
Fold the remaining paper in half (we used yellow cardstock).
Cut a thin strip of white paper and glue it in the middle as shown in the picture.
Apply glue to the bow – only one side but apply it all over the bow.
Press it down onto the card. Let the glue dry, which may take a while due to the texture of the bow (if your child is familiar with a glue gun, use that).
Glue the buttons along the white paper strip.
Open the card and write your message.
