Step by Step Instructions for Making DIY Award Ribbons
Start by folding a piece of paper in half (along the longer edge).
This will mark the middle section. Now cut along the middle section to get two long strips of paper.
Start folding the paper (strip) in a pleated fashion until it reaches the end.
Don’t know how to do it? You can watch the video tutorial as this step is presented more clearly.
This is what you will get after folding the entire sheet of paper.
Do the same with the remaining strip of paper.
Push the “accordion” together (close it). Fold it in half.
Glue them together on one side.
This will make the paper look like a fan.
At the bottom of the fan, the last two or three accordion folds may still stretch out. We don’t want that, so apply a small amount of glue in the middle to stick them together.
Repeat these steps with the remaining strip of paper.
Now you have two fans and you need to glue them together.
Hold them together for a while to let the glue dry.
Cut a circle from yellow paper. This circle should be smaller than the award ribbon asterisk.
Write the purpose of the award. We chose the “Best Dad” award.
Add glue to the back of the yellow circle and press it onto the asterisk. Let the glue set.
Cut two ribbons from red paper.
Glue them to the back of the award ribbon.
Everything is done and ready to be given to the best dad in the world.
