Celebrate harvest time with this easy bubble corn. This fall activity is a great introduction to printmaking as your child explores making prints using bubble wrap. This is also a great way to use bubble wrap that you have instead of throwing it in the trash.
If you don’t have bubble wrap, you can make this corn craft in many other ways, and we’ll talk more about this in our step-by-step guide.

Corn crafts are great as fall crafts, Thanksgiving crafts, or as an addition to a harvest lesson in your classroom. This is a simple art project that all students can complete on their own.
How to make bubble corn wrap crafts
What you need:
- pencil
- drag
- glue
- bubble wrap
- yellow paint (acrylic is great)
- paintbrush
- white cardboard
- colored paper (blue)
Step-by-step instructions
Prepare a sheet of white cardboard or art paper. You can use regular printer paper although it may be heavily wrinkled.
Tip: prepare rectangular-sized sheets of paper in advance and provide children with bubble wrap of the same size. This way you avoid wasting paper and bubble wrap.
Have your child paint the bubble wrap with yellow paint (on the side with the bubble).
You can use watercolor or any other liquid color to cover the bubble wrap – we used acrylic paint.
Ask your child to turn the bubble wrap face down and place it on white cardstock to print.
Press the bubble wrap down, then ask them to slowly remove the bubble wrap and let it dry for a few minutes.
If you don’t have bubble wrap, you can have your kids use Q-tips to dip the kernels or use their fingers to make them.
Have children cut out corn shapes.
Take a green paper and fold it in half.
Draw a leaf-like shape and cut it out to get two leaves of the same size.
Glue the leaves onto the corn.
All done!
These can be strung together to make a fun classroom decoration or pinned on a harvest-themed bulletin board.
Wishing you successful manufacturing!
