This is a great Easter classroom craft idea because it is easy enough and fun enough for preschoolers and kindergarteners. I’m sure we can all agree that as soon as we hear that they are making bunny butts, there will be lots of laughter and giggles.
Since this craft is quite economical, this is also a plus for teachers.
Have each student make their own bunny butt craft (you can even have them add ears) and display all of their creations on the wall. Who doesn’t love a wall full of quirky bunny butts? We’re fans!
Ready to get crafting? Let’s make a bunny butt for Easter!
What you need:
Optional – glue gun
Don’t have enough supplies? You can easily make a few changes – use paper instead of paper plates and have your child cut out circles.
Use white paper or tissue paper to make the bunny tail instead of cotton balls.
Pink paint instead of pink paper is just as fun.
Paint the entire front of the paper plate with gray paint. Set aside to dry.
Draw 2 rabbit feet on gray cardboard.
Cut 2 large circles (3 inches in diameter) from pink construction paper. Glue each circle to the center of each foot.
Cut out 6 small ovals, about 1 inch long. Glue one oval onto each bunny “toe.”
Apply glue to the back of each rabbit’s foot and place it on the bottom of the paper plate, one left and one right. The toes should be pointing down and out. Press down firmly for 10-15 seconds.
Apply glue to the center of the plate and place a large, soft pom pom on top. Press firmly for 10-15 seconds.
