Making a butterfly from a heart is easy, just follow our butterfly valentine paper craft tutorial and you’ll be making your own in no time.

Valentine’s Day crafts are definitely cute, and if made for friends (or a crush) can make great gifts or cards.
These butterflies can be used as cards and gifts. Or just as decorations to hang on your home or classroom wall.
Let’s get started!
Fold the red paper in half and draw a large heart shape.
Use scissors to cut out a heart shape. You should now have two large red hearts.
Fold the white paper in half as shown.
Draw a smaller heart shape with a pencil.
Cut out a heart shape.
Now you have four big white hearts.
Fold a red paper in half.
Draw a third heart that is even smaller.
Use scissors to cut out a heart shape.
Now you have four red hearts.
Fold a white sheet of paper in half.
Draw a fourth small heart shape.
Use scissors to cut out a heart shape.
Now you have four white hearts.
Take a pair of hearts on each side and glue them on top of each other as shown in the picture.
Take the remaining pair of hearts and glue them on top of each other.
The wings are done.
They should look like this.
Draw the body of the butterfly…
…and cut it out.
Apply some glue to the back of the body and attach the four wings.
Add two bulging eyes on the head.
Draw a small white mouth, cut it out with scissors, then place it under the eye.
Draw two small hearts, one white, the other red.
Cut these hearts out and glue them to the top of the head (on top of the vertical ‘tentacles’) as shown.
Done.
Our butterfly is ready to fly!
