We have a great project for all you felt lovers – take the felt carrot candy bag pattern and make the cutest Easter candy box ever.
These are extremely easy to sew and require just a few basic stitches to create a great project even for kids.
This felt project is perfect to make if you want to introduce your kids to sewing – it’s easy, doesn’t require a lot of sewing, and only requires one basic stitch. Not to mention you’ll get the most amazing final product.
What you need:
Print out the template. Cut out the shapes and trace them onto the felt – carrots on orange felt, leaves on green felt – smaller on dark green felt and larger on light green felt. You can also cut out small circles for decorations (totally optional) from different colors of scrap felt.
Place the smaller carrot felt piece on top of the larger felt piece – try to line up the shapes as much as possible. If working with younger children, you can add a little felt glue to the edges to hold the shapes in place while your child sews.
Sew the pieces together. You can use a blanket stitch (which you can see in this felt seahorse tutorial) or a basic running stitch (just overlapping the pieces with thread).
Done!
If you want to add a little decoration, glue some felt dots onto the carrot.
