Chick Toilet Paper Roll Craft – Easy Easter Craft Idea

Got a bunch of toilet paper rolls? Why not try making a toilet paper roll chick craft, or a dozen, as this is the perfect toilet paper roll project for Easter.

In this article, we have created two versions of the chick, let’s say a brother and a sister, one fully hatched and one just emerging from the eggshell.

We love thrifty craft materials and toilet paper rolls (or kitchen paper towel rolls if you don’t like toilet paper rolls) are a great option.

There are so many fun activities kids can do with them, from crafts to learning games… This time, as Easter is approaching, we focus on a craft project – chicks.

Ready? Let’s start crafting!

How to make toilet paper roll chick

What you need:

  • toilet paper rolls (you can also use kitchen paper towel rolls or store-bought craft paper rolls – yes they do)
  • yellow paper or yellow paint
  • orange paper
  • eyes (vibrating eyes or googly eye patches)
  • optional: white cardboard for eggshells – I recommend Astrobrights Stardust White paper because it has colorful spots and looks very natural.
  • glue
  • drag

Start by making your toilet paper roll yellow :). You can do this by painting it yellow or wrapping it in yellow paper.

We will use paper. Cut a strip of paper that is as wide as the height of the toilet paper roll.

Apply glue to the entire strip of paper.

And stick it around the toilet paper roll.

If you want to make a chick in an egg, cut a cracked eggshell – the height of the shell should be slightly less than half the height of a toilet paper roll.

Stick it on the paper roll.

Cut wings out of yellow paper.

Stick them to your toilet paper roll.

Cut a beak out of orange paper and glue it onto your chick.

Last but not least is the eye patch.
