How to make Christmas light handprint art

What you need:

  • white craft paper
  • marker (black and brown)
  • washable paint (red, yellow and green)
  • paintbrush

Step-by-step instructions

To start, lay out a sheet of white construction paper on a flat surface.

This will serve as canvas for your child’s creativity.

Use a marker to have your child draw a wavy line extending from the top to the bottom of the page.

This line will represent the cables of the Christmas lights.

Along the wavy line, help your child draw three small rectangles to make sockets for Christmas lights.

Ask them to place the sockets evenly along the line, with enough room for their fingerprints to fit inside each socket.

Coat the paintbrush with washable paint to evenly distribute the paint across your child’s palm.

You can start with a festive red to capture the essence of Christmas.

Now, have your child place his palm on the paper inside the drawn cavities.

Let the paint dry between each application of color to avoid smudging.

This will create a bright light along the cable.

To create a diverse string of lights, choose different paint colors, such as green and yellow, and repeat the handprint process.

Once the paint has dried, it’s time to step back and admire the beautiful Christmas lights handprint art your child created.

You can hang this masterpiece on the wall or refrigerator to showcase your creative talent and spread joy during the holiday season.
