What we love most about this Christmas card, besides it being super simple, is that you can keep it minimal like we did or add more decorations to make it fun than. We thought using finger painting to make Christmas tree ornaments would add a fun touch to this project.

How to make Christmas tree cards

What you need:

  • blank card or a sheet of cardstock to make your own card base
  • green paper
  • drag
  • glue

Step-by-step instructions

If you don’t have a blank card, cut a sheet of letterhead or A4-sized paper in half. Fold in half to make a card.

Step 1

Open the card. Fold the left half to the middle (align the end with the middle fold).

Repeat with the other side.

Your card will look like this.

Step 2

Cut a rectangle of green (or other colored) paper smaller than your card.

Fold it in half.

Step 3

Draw half of a Christmas tree.

Cut along the outline you drew.

Step 4

Open up your tree.

And cut along the fold.

Step 5

Apply glue to half of the Christmas tree and stick it on the card.

Do the same with the other half (align it with the first half).

Write your notes on the card. If you want more contrast on the card, tape a rectangle of white (or other colored) construction paper.
