What we love most about this Christmas card, aside from it being super simple, is that you can keep it minimal like we did or add a ton of decorations to make it even more fun. We think using finger paint to make Christmas tree ornaments would add a nice touch to this project.
This card does not open like a classic card but opens in the middle.
How to make Christmas tree cards
What you need:
- a blank piece of card or cardboard to make your own card base
- green paper
- drag
- glue
Step by step instructions
If you don’t have blank card, cut a piece of letter or A4 paper in half. Fold one half in half to make a card.
Step 1
Open the card. Fold the left half to the center (aligning the bottom to the center fold).
Repeat with the other side.
This is the image on your card.
Step 2
Cut a rectangle from green (or other colored) paper that is smaller than your card.
Fold it in half.
Step 3
Draw half a Christmas tree.
Cut along the outline you drew.
Step 4
Open your tree.
And cut along the fold.
Step 5
Apply glue to half of the Christmas tree and stick it to the card.
Do the same with the other half (aligning with the first half).
Write your note on the card. If you want more contrast, glue a rectangle of white (or other colored) construction paper.
And there you have it, your Christmas Tree Cards are done. We hope your kids enjoy making these cards and their creations will delight their friends and family.
