This is one of the simplest origami projects, perfect for beginners and only takes a few minutes to make so it’s also a great project for the classroom.

Christmas tree corner bookmark
What you need
- green origami paper
- brown paper
- glue
- drag
- decorations (sequins, paper, tassels)

Step by step folding instructions
Fold the green origami paper diagonally (both sides).
Fold into a triangle, with the colored side of the origami paper facing out.
Grab the top part of one layer of paper (the top corner of the triangle) and fold it towards the bottom (you will see a white square).
Fold both sides of the triangle to the center, crease and unfold.
Now fold both edges of the paper towards the top of the triangle and fold it over. You should now see a green square.
Fold the edge of the bag inward. Press down and fold.
Cut out the Christmas tree shape (be careful when cutting, only cut in a “triangle” shape, otherwise the bookmark corner will break off).
You can also leave it as is and not cut it off.
Cut a small rectangle from brown paper and glue it in the middle.
We decided to decorate the corner bookmark with paper, we made the ornament with a hole punch and used scissors to cut out the star (our star drawing tutorial can help here or you can also download our printable star sketch).
