*This article contains affiliate links*We love giving our crafts some dimension and room for kids to be a little more creative so we thought hard about how to make a paper plate owl craft that was a little… Different.
You loved our rainbow fish paper plates (and we certainly did too) and since paper circles looked like they would work well as feathers, we decided to give them a try. And we loved it.
Our owl loves to rock pastel colored feathers, but can be made in a variety of color schemes (or just stick to one color). Not only does it look great, punching and punching out circles is always a fun process for kids. And gluing circles on owl crafts will help your little one practice their fine motor skills.
Are you ready to get crafty? Let’s make an owl!
How to Make a Colorful Paper Plate Owl
What you need:
- two paper plates (one larger than the other – if not, you can cut one to make it smaller, two the same size will work too)
- brown paint
- paintbrush (we like foam brushes)
- multicolor printing paper for feathers
- orange paper for beak and feet
- white paper for eyes
- tick
- round punch
- Scallop circle punch (optional)
- glue
- drag
If you want to make your owl a little more fancy, a little glitter is always a great option (when I say glitter, I mean glitter glue – the owl’s savior, the savior from glitter explosions).
