How to make clothespin puppets for community workers

What you need:

  • printable template
  • wooden clothespin
  • drag
  • glue
  • Optional color supplies

Step-by-step instructions

Print out the sheets – we highly recommend using cardstock to print them on or laminate the puppets to make them more durable.

Includes both a black and white version that kids can color themselves as well as a pre-colored version.

If you print the black and white version, let your child color it before starting to cut out the puppets.

Cut out the outlines of the puppet. Next, cut along the marked line across the puppet’s mouth.

Apply glue to the clothespin (wooden clothespin is best).

Glue the tip to the top of the clothespin…

…and the body at the bottom of the clothespin.

Let the glue dry and the puppets are ready to play.
