Tis the season for Christmas crafts! This festive lace craft is easy enough for all ages to make and beautiful enough for everyone! You can use green or white lace for a more elegant look or even combine both if you want to make a snowy tree.
Young children can make this craft by cutting out pieces of lace fabric, while older children with better folding skills can fold this craft from a piece of lace fabric without cutting, which will give this craft more volume and texture.
You can make this craft to display on your wall or use to make a beautiful Christmas card.
How to make Christmas tree decorations
What you need
- a green or white tablecloth
- brown paper
- construction paper for background (we used black)
- Decorations – gold or glitter stars, buttons, tassels, shredded ribbon, paper….
- glue
- drag
Step by step instructions
Cut a rectangle (tree trunk) out of brown paper and glue it onto the background paper.
Take a piece of lace fabric and fold it into a “tree” shape (see below).
This can be a little difficult for younger children, so if working with preschoolers you can ask them to cut triangles out of a tablecloth.
Apply glue to the lace fabric…
…and glue it to the paper base.
It’s time to decorate your Christmas tree.
Add a star and a few decorations (made of buttons, ribbon, scrap paper or any other material.)
Happy crafting!
