We have lots of Halloween art and craft ideas on our blog, many of them are really easy to make but these cute ghosts are definitely one of the easiest for kids to make. me. Another fun project that doesn’t require much skill, making it perfect for preschool, is this tape anti-cobweb art or these fun apple-print Jack o lanterns.

For kids who want something a little more challenging (but still easy), this Halloween cat drawing tutorial will do the trick.

How to make an easy ghost art project for kids

What you need:

  • black construction paper (or other color)
  • White paint
  • round sponge brush
  • Scissors or punch round paper holes
  • glue

Step-by-step instructions

Pour white paint onto a paper plate (or other tray). This will make dipping the sponge easier.

Add a little water if necessary.

Have your child dip a round foam brush into white paint. Press it in so the paint really penetrates.

And now start drawing! Press the sponge onto black (or other colored) paper to form a circle.

Begin to “build” into an (inverted) U shape, shaping the body of the ghost.

If the paint doesn’t cover the entire circle, that’s okay because the ghost should be somewhat translucent anyway.

Work your way up with the brush until you’re satisfied with the bubbly shape of your ghost.

Wait for the paint to dry. In the meantime, cut a few circles from black paper.

Alternatively, you can also use a foam brush and dip it in black paint to make your ghost’s eyes and mouth.

Apply glue and stick the paper circles onto the ghost.

Oh! If you want, you can also add a pair of hands to your ghost.

All done, this easy spooky art project for kids is ready to be displayed.

If you want to add more personality to your ghost, you can also add paper bows or other decorations.
