How to make an elephant corner bookmark

What you need:

  • blue or gray origami paper
  • blue or gray paper
  • black marker
  • drag
  • glue
  • Vibrating eye patches or googly eyes (optional)

Step by step instructions

Prepare a sheet of origami paper. We used blue, but gray, purple (or any other color) would also be great.

Fold the paper in half diagonally, white side facing in, to form a triangle.

Fold one of the paper layers (holding the top of the triangle) towards the bottom.

A white square inside the triangle will appear.

Now bring the right corner of the triangle to the bottom middle. Make the fold crisp and open.

Do the same on the other side.

Now take that right corner but this time bring it to the top.

Repeat with the remaining corner (a diamond shape will form).

Fold the top part into the “pocket”. The corner bookmark is complete. Now let’s turn it into an elephant bookmark.

Svg%3E

Cut two large ears out of the remaining paper.

Svg%3E

You can make the ears symmetrical by first folding the paper in half and cutting both ears at the same time.

Svg%3E

Also, cut the trunk (and the tusks if you want).

Svg%3E

Glue the tree trunk to the bookmark in the corner.

Do the same with the ears.

Now add details with a black marker.

You can draw eyes with a marker or use eye patches or fake eyes.
