Shape a small portion of the salt dough into a ball.

Using a rolling pin or cup, roll the dough until it is about 1/4-1/2 inch thick.

Use a round cookie cutter to cut the dough into circles. Place the circles on wax paper.

Gently press your fingertip into the powder in a circular, petal-like pattern. This will leave a small impression so you know where to place your fingerprints when painting later.

Bake, air dry, or microwave to dry. Microwave on high for 10 seconds, then 20 seconds. Heat for 20 seconds until firm. Let cool completely.

First, paint the entire circle white (this will help the color pop). Squeeze a small amount of paint onto a paper plate or palette.

Dip your fingertip into the paint and press down into the powder where you first made your mark.

To dry, thread a piece of string or rope through to hang.
