Do you have creative feet and hands? Why not make these two Halloween handprint and footprint art projects – a bat and ghosts!
Footprint & handprint craft for Halloween
What you need:
- Non-toxic black and white washable craft paint
- 2 paper plates
- small paint brush
- construction paper (you choose the color, but black works best for ghosts)
- drag
- a cute baby foot
- cute baby hands
What to do:
For bats-
Pour a sufficient amount of paint onto a paper plate, black on one side and white on the other (the purple was taken from another craft that day)
Use a brush to apply paint to the baby’s feet. We found this much easier than dipping our toes in paint.
Press the baby’s foot down at a slight angle, with the right foot forming a bat wing on the right. Left foot for left bat wing.
Use your finger or a paintbrush to color in the bat’s body and add ears
Let dry, use a little white paint to create the face. We omitted the fangs just to make it less scary!
For the ghosts-
Follow step 2 above, apply paint on baby’s hand
Press the paper down, pick it up quickly, being careful not to smudge the paint
Repeat as many times as you like, you can use larger hands to create a family!
Let dry, use black paint to create the face
Clean up is easy, just throw away the plate and wash the brush! (Oh, and honey, unless you want to decorate your house the easy way).
