Remember that beautiful chick we made for Easter?

Well, everyone loved it – we got a lot of compliments on that project, and that’s why we decided to surprise you with another creature that came out of an egg.

This time we have a cute baby dinosaur inside the egg, waiting for it to break.

This is a very easy project to do, there aren’t many steps involved and we bet you already have all the materials needed for this project.

Get crafting with us; we know many of you love dinosaurs.

How to make a hatching dinosaur paper craft

What you need:

  • light green cardboard (or any color you choose)
  • brown cardboard
  • dark blue paper
  • light blue paper
  • black marker
  • pencil
  • drag
  • glue
  • split pin
  • paper eyes

Step by step instructions

On the green cardboard, draw an egg shape.

We provide dimensions so you can see how large the egg shape is.

Cut out egg shape.

Use a pencil to draw a crack in the middle of the egg.

Cut through the crack and split the egg in half.

Use a split pin to join the two halves together.

Check that the egg opens and closes properly.

On brown cardboard, draw some ovals and some circles.

They should not be perfect.

Cut out ovals and circles.

Glue them to the egg as shown.

Trim off any excess brown paper sticking out of the egg.

Great, you just got the mechanism working!

On a piece of dark blue paper, draw a picture of a dinosaur.

Use scissors to cut it out.

Trace the dinosaur’s head and snout on light blue paper and add some spikes on the head.

Here you can see the tracked parts more clearly.

Cut off the spiky head and snout.

Stick them onto the dinosaur shape.

You should glue the head to the back of the dinosaur. Make sure to glue the snout to the front of the dinosaur.

Glue the paper eyes on.

Use a black marker to draw two nostrils on the snout.

Draw a small circle for the mouth too.

Glue the dinosaur inside the egg.

The only part that sticks out is the head and snout.

All has been done!

Every time we open the egg, we feel really happy.

We find that these projects always bring smiles to our faces and brighten our lives.

Hope you guys like them too and hope they bring you some happy days.

Isn’t it cute?

That’s all for today.

Stay tuned for more!
