Making paper butterflies is one of the easiest crafts for kids and yet beautiful enough for kids of all ages to enjoy.
They make the ultimate spring decoration and would look great on a spring bulletin board (you could have each student make their own butterfly).
You can make this pattern with or without our printable template (which you can get at the end of this tutorial) and the end result will always be stunning.
You can make paper butterflies in one color or you can use two different colors to make them more interesting.
What you need
If working with a template, print it on plain paper and use as a stencil or print directly onto colored paper.
This paper butterfly is made of two parts.
Try to keep them small and even.
It’s best to hold them together for a while to give the glue time to set. You can also use clothespins instead of your fingers, especially if you’re making more than one butterfly.
After tying the knot, leave enough hair to make a beard. Trim off the excess hair.
Alternatively, you can make the body and beard with toothpicks.
Now make as many as you like!
With thousands of printable crafts, activities, worksheets, coloring pages, and drawing tutorials, you’ll always have the resources you need at your fingertips. Perfect for parents and teachers alike!
