We will show you how to make paper beads and how to make a simple paper bead bracelet.
Sounds fun, right? Turning paper into beads is super easy.
For those of you who already have a magic wand, this will be an easy job, right? And for the rest of you who don’t have a magic wand, you will have to roll the strips of paper on a toothpick yourself to form the beads or you can quickly move on to the magic wand project we showed you a while ago.
These can look so cool that none of your friends will notice that the bracelet you’re wearing is made of paper!
And how awesome is that?
How to Make Paper Bead Bracelets
What you need:
- newspaper, book pages, watercolor paper or colored paper
- drag
- pencil
- ruler
- glue
- stretch yarn
- toothpick
Optional: gloss varnish, paint
Step by step instructions
On the selected sheet of paper, draw and cut out an isosceles triangle, a right triangle and a rectangle as shown in the picture.
Make sure the paper strips are the right length, at least 8 inches / 20 cm.
If you want to make larger beads just use longer strips of paper.
Put a little glue on one side of the paper strip and start rolling it around the toothpick.
Once the strip is completely stuck to itself, remove it from the toothpick and set aside to dry.
Repeat this step with each strip of paper until you have enough beads to thread onto the yarn.
Apply a little glue to the beads and let dry.
You will need to measure around your wrist to choose the right size bracelet.
Begin threading the bead onto the stretch yarn and once complete, tie a tight knot.
Done!
Now put on your bracelet and show it to everyone!
You can do as much as you want.
Make them as colorful as possible.

How to make paper beads look like glass beads
If you’re going for a glassy look, make your bead out of an isosceles triangle – and make it as long as you can. Once you’ve rolled out your bead, paint it with paint and seal it with a clear varnish.
