We love all things Halloween, from making spooky Halloween crafts with kids to spooky treats and all the fun costumes.
And we love paper roses, they’re so versatile – you can make fancy looking decorations like in this tutorial or you can make all sorts of fun characters like flower bats Paper roses.
What you need
Cut 4 rectangles out of orange paper, the rectangles should be twice as long as they are wide (our dimensions are about 4 x 8 inches / 10 x 20) cm.
Fold each strip of paper into an accordion. Make sure all the folds are more or less even.
Once all four have been folded, it’s time to assemble the rose.
Apply glue along the last fold of one of the folded sheets of paper and press another sheet of paper into it, gluing them together.
Press them firmly together to let the glue set.
Continue with the remaining two. Try to bend them into a circle, if they form a nice circle then you’re done, if not, make another strip of paper and add it to your creation.
Once you have glued them all together into one long strip of paper, apply glue to one end…
…make a circle and glue the ends together.
Draw a bat or any other Halloween-themed silhouette on a piece of black paper. Construction paper is best for this project.
If you don’t have construction paper, you can glue black paper onto any sturdy paper – cereal boxes work great!
Apply glue to the back of the bat silhouette and stick it onto the paper rose.
To make the paper rose more sturdy and help it keep its shape, you can also glue a small piece of construction paper or cardboard to the back of the rose (center).
