You can use a variety of materials to make the eyes for this spooky craft; If you’re doing crafts with young children, sharp eyes or paper are the best options.
Scraps, fabric, and yarn are really great if you’re doing this on your own or if you’re working with older kids who already have good fine motor skills.
How to make yarn tassel ghosts
What you need:
- glue
- drag
- a piece of cardboard
- yarn
- paper (white and black) or other materials to make eyes
- black marker
Step-by-step instructions
Take a piece of cardboard and some yarn.
Wrap the yarn around the cardboard several times.
The more yarn you use, the fuller and fluffier the ghost will be!
Cut the yarn when you’re done.
Cut a wire.
Slide it under the wrapped bundle.
Grasp the ends (you can tie them loosely here).
Now, pull the cardboard out while holding the fiber ends, making sure they don’t slide out.
Tie a knot at the top to keep your yarn bundled together.
Shape the yarn with your fingers to make it look like a ghostly friend.
Use another piece of yarn to shape the head and body, tie it with a knot.
It’s all coming together!
Cut loops at the bottom of the body.
Watch your yarn tassel ghost come to life!
Cut two small round eyes from white paper and glue them onto the ghost’s head.
You can also use googly eyes or scrap fabric to make eyes.
Add a black circle for the mouth.
Finish by drawing the pupils in the eyes with a black marker.
