Ready for another adorable bookmark? Make this cute ladybug corner bookmark, perfect for checking off your summer reading or just for summer vacation crafts. This is a great origami project for kids because it’s quick and easy to make.
What you need:
The instructions for folding this sheet are the same as the sailboat corner marker sheet we did previously, so I’ll use the same photos to guide you through this project.
Start by folding the red paper diagonally. Fold it into a triangle. Grab the top corner of the triangle, just one layer – as indicated by the pink dot in the image below, and fold it down towards the bottom, as indicated by the pink dot.
Now take the left (or right) corner of the triangle and fold it towards the middle (as indicated by the pink dot). Fold carefully. Repeat with the other corner. Unfold.
Fold the left (or right) corner of the triangle again, this time up to the top (as indicated by the pink dot). Crease. Repeat with the other side. Now tuck the flap into the pocket, grasping the top as indicated by the dot and pushing it inside the pocket. Do the same with the other side. Crease.
Time to decorate the ladybug. The idea is the same as with the sailboat, with some decorative changes 🙂 . Cut a triangle from black paper that fits the “square”. Glue it to the corner bookmark (on the single-layer part). Now cut a circle – this way to get the head (on the tutorial photo, this part corresponds to the brown boat part).
Cut out two white eyes and glue them on. Now take a black marker and draw the eyes, a straight line in the middle and seven small dots.
This adorable ladybug corner bookmark is ready to save your book pages!
