We love moving paper dolls, they are great DIY paper toys because kids can not only assemble them and color them in their own way but also play with them. Isn’t that great?
This animal would make a great companion to our moving owl paper doll and we’re sure the pair would make a great Halloween display.
If you need simpler puppets that are still super fun, check out our printable Halloween puppets – your kids will love them.
This moving doll is perfect for school plays or to do in a Halloween craft at home or in the classroom.
So let’s do this!
What you need:
Optional: a plastic laminator to make this craft last a little longer.
Print out the template (you’ll find it at the end of this step-by-step guide).
You will need a thicker printer paper for this craft project or regular paper and will need to laminate.
Once you have printed out the template, color it in with your favorite coloring tool.
Colored it all in? Great! Now cut out all the pattern pieces. Nice and easy.
Punch holes (adult help required for small children). We punch holes with a skewer.
Optional but handy, glue craft sticks to the back of the puppet.
Reinforce with tape.
Glue two small bat legs on.
Push the nails through the holes in the shaft.
Flip over and place one wing (through the inside hole) onto the pin. Spread the pin out.
Thread the wire through the “outer” holes of both wings.
Tie them together, leaving a moderate length at one end.
And that’s it, your paper doll is done.
With thousands of printable crafts, activities, worksheets, coloring pages, and drawing tutorials, you’ll always have the resources you need at your fingertips. Perfect for parents and teachers alike!
