These portraits will help turn your home into a spooky mansion. Hang them on the wall and watch the eyes follow you wherever you go. That’s real Halloween craft magic.
What you need:
Print out the template. For a portrait, you will need a box template.
…and a Halloween monster portrait.
If your child is drawing a black and white portrait, have them color it in before assembling the craft.
Cut out the monster shape (cut along the outer contour).
Cut out circles for the eyes. Punch a small hole in the center of each circle and cut them out with scissors.
Cut out the box template.
Cut out two circles marked on the template, just like you did on the monster image.
Fold along the black dashed lines.
Fold the folds nice and crisp, this will make assembling the box easier.
Assemble the box. The two black dots should be on the inside of the box.
Apply glue to the areas that say glue on them.
Assemble the box.
Allow the glue to dry before you continue with the final step of this project.
The last thing to do is to glue the monster portrait onto the box.
Apply glue to the back of the portrait (or top of the box).
Glue the portrait to the box, making sure the holes on the box and the portrait are aligned.
Done! You have completed your moving eyes portrait for Halloween. Move it left, right, up, down and watch the eyes move.
