It’s turkey season! You’re going to love this little project we’re sharing with you today, we made a no-sew sock turkey craft that would make a great DIY gift or decoration for your home during the fall months. And it’s the perfect solution to use up those extra pairs of socks we know you have.
No-Sew Sock Turkey Craft
What you need
- an unusual brown sock – soft if possible
- feel
- vibrating eye patch
- feel in the autumn colors
- elastic
- rice
- drag
- hot glue gun or glue.
Stuff the sock with rice. For cotton socks, we recommend using another sock to stuff the rice and place it inside the cotton sock. Once you have created a nice shape, tie the sock with an elastic band. Use another elastic band to make the head.
The great thing about these cotton socks is that you don’t have to cut the excess sock off, we pulled the excess sock over our head – this also hides the elastic around the “neck”.
Cut the tail feathers out of felt. If you use thicker felt it will be able to hold its shape, if you use thinner felt you may need to reinforce it by gluing a piece of cardboard over it.
Glue the feathers together to form a beautiful tail shape, you can use a glue gun or felt glue.
Glue the tail to the turkey’s body using a hot glue gun. Cut a small triangle-shaped beak out of felt. Glue it to the head. All that’s left is to glue two wiggle eyes.
