We really think this origami bunny face craft is a great origami for beginners. It has easy to follow steps and doesn’t require much patience to fold. And you can’t get over how cute it is, right? Those little pointy ears! So cute, even if they’re made of “regular” origami paper.

They are fun to make all year round, but the closer we get to Easter, the more popular they become!

This could be a fun classroom project for kids, especially with our black and white template where they can actually make their own fun bunny. An army of cute little bunny faces would look adorable on display in the classroom, don’t you think?

We have prepared many pre-colored templates, most of which are easy to print. They are definitely fun but we really hope you will choose the black and white template :).

Ready to make your own paper crafts? Just print out the template and follow the step-by-step folding instructions.

Origami Rabbit Folding Instructions

What you need to make this craft;

  • our printable templates (you can find them at the end of this tutorial) – or regular origami paper
  • drag (if you are using our template)
  • coloring supplies – markers, ink, crayons, colored pencils, glitter (let the bunnies sparkle!!!)

Let’s get started!

We have both video tutorials and photo folding instructions for you!

Or follow this step-by-step folding guide

First print out one of our origami templates.

If you decide to print our black and white version (be creative), the first thing to do is go all out and color it.

We’re sure your kids will come up with some gorgeous bunny designs.

Ours are colored with markers (ears and nose) and we didn’t go crazy with the stamping! Stamping really gives a nice effect, don’t you think?

Once your template is nicely colored it’s time to cut it out.

If your child is using markers or ink, it’s best to let the paint dry a bit before continuing.

It’s time to fold an Origami bunny

If you use our pre-colored template, you won’t have to wait ;).

Fold the square paper in half, the bunny face and ears should be on one side.

There is a dashed line along the rabbit ears. Fold along that line.

Wrinkles.

Gently fold the triangle in half again, pinching the bottom lightly.

We just do this to mark the middle position, as it will make folding a little easier.

Open. Place the bunny face down.

Take one edge of the triangle (ear) and fold it towards the top (the middle part marked in the previous step will be useful here).

Do the same on the other side.

Wrinkles.

Turn it upside down – the rabbit’s face should be looking straight at you.

You will see a dashed line at the bottom of the bunny’s face. Fold along that line (fold back).

There is another dashed line above the rabbit’s face.

Fold along that line, then fold back.

Your origami bunny is done!

We really hope your child will get super creative when decorating their own origami bunny.

They can use crayons, markers, pencils or even scrap paper, natural materials, it’s up to you. Let their imaginations run wild!
