How to make Turkish handmade paper bags

What you need:

printable template (optional)
pencil
drag
glue
paper bag
construction paper (white, red, yellow and orange)
marker (black and brown)

Step-by-step instructions

You need a paper bag to make a turkey. Any size works well.

Make sure the bottom side is facing up and remains folded.

Ask the kids to cut two large white circles from construction paper (or use our template) for turkey eyes and glue them on top. They can also use Google’s big eyes.

Draw two circles with a black marker for each eye.

Cut a curvy turkey shape from red construction paper.

Cut a yellow triangle for the beak.

Glue the pieces together – glue first then beak.

Let’s make feathers. Use yellow, orange and red construction paper to make the tail more colorful.

For easy cutting, stack colorful pieces of construction paper on top of each other.

Draw a feather shape on the construction paper above.

Carefully cut out with scissors.

You’ll have colorful turkey feathers in one go!

Draw feather patterns on each feather. Start gluing the feathers to the back of the paper bag.

Alternate between colors.
