Winter crafts are a great way to explore seasonal themes. From learning about evergreen trees and snowy landscapes to experimenting with color contrasts like white versus dark blue, this activity can be both educational and fun.

Plus, the fun of working on a project together creates memories that will last a lifetime.

How to make winter tree doily crafts

What you need:

  • drag
  • glue
  • white hand towel
  • white paper
  • brown paper
  • construction paper as background (we used dark blue)
  • white lining

Step-by-step instructions

Darker colored construction paper works best for this project. You can also let your children draw on their paper.

Let’s make snow! Have children cut or tear shapes to make the ground full of snow. We made circles out of white paper and cut them in half before gluing them to the bottom of the paper.

Next, we need a white sheet of paper to wipe our hands.

Cut into the hand towel, cut out triangles.

There is no need to make them even, without shape and size.

Now have your child glue the triangles (pointy side up) on the paper.

Continue adding other triangles next to it.

Cut smaller rectangles from brown paper to make the tree trunk.

Glue these stems to the tree, overlapping the snowy ground.

It’s time to take the final steps!

Draw snowflakes with a white chalk or liner. You can also let kids use Q-tips, paint, or even their fingertips.

And that’s all. A simple but fun winter art project that kids will love making.

What a great use for a hand towel.

We love the appearance of these snow-covered dusters!
