This polar bear craft is the perfect addition to your classroom lesson about polar animals. This is also a fun winter-themed art project to explore in your home.
What you need:
Blue construction paper is best for this project (of course you can use other colors too).
Have your child draw a circle on a piece of newspaper for the polar bear’s head.
Ask them to draw two separate ears.
Cut off the head and ears.
We’ll need another newspaper for the body.
Make it half an oval and cut it out.
Glue the body onto the paper first. Next, apply glue to the head and ears.
This step is optional, but if you want a more prominent muzzle, ask your child to cut another oval and glue it on top.
Black marker is easiest to use for the next step (although brushes and paint also work).
Draw a half circle inside the polar bear’s ear.
Then, let children use a pen to draw eyes, nose, and mouth on the polar bear’s face.
You can also add snowflakes. Chalk markers are great for this.
Kids can also use their fingers and paint or Q-tips to make them.
All done!
What a fun and eco-friendly winter themed piece of art.
We hope this craft will spark more ideas for polar animals, as penguins can be created in the same way.
With thousands of crafts, activities, worksheets, coloring pages, and drawing guides to print, you’ll always have the resources you need at hand. Perfect for both parents and teachers!
