How to make paper flower cards for mother on mother’s day
What you need:
- a picture of the child
- red or other colored paper
- green paper
- Cardboard for card base
- yellow paper
- paper cutter or scissors
- Round hole punch (optional)
- glue
- drag
Step by step instructions
Step 1
Start by taking a photo. This needs to be done in advance. Ask your child to hold a small object in their hand and pose as if they are holding a bouquet of flowers (preferably a solid color background to make editing easier – you can also skip the editing and just crop out their outline).
Step 2
Print the photo and cut along the contour.
Step 3
Cut thin strips of paper. A paper cutter works best for this (kids love it). The size of the strips will depend on the size of the card – it’s best to experiment a bit before starting your craft session. This step can be done in advance or the kids can cut the strips themselves, it all depends on their age, how much time you have to complete the project, etc.
Step 4
Make a paper ring. Apply glue to one end of the paper strip…
…and glue the two ends together.
Do a batch.
Step 5
Cut (or punch) a yellow circle. Glue strips of paper to one side of the circle.
Continue until you are satisfied with the shape of the petals.
Step 6
Fold the cardboard in half.
Step 7
Cut a thin strip of green paper (flower stem) and glue it onto the card.
Step 8
Paste the child’s photo into the card.
Step 9
Glue the flower to the card.
Step 10
Write a special note.
Done! Your Mother’s Day paper flower card is finished and ready to give to that special person in your child’s life.
