We absolutely love Halloween crafts at Easy Peasy and Fun, they might just be our favourite. Paper roses are a great craft for all ages and you can create all sorts of cute creations with them – this bat craft is a great example.

How to make paper bat crafts

What you need:

  • black paper
  • white paper
  • black marker
  • drag
  • glue
  • string

Step by step instructions

We will make small bats (you can make them bigger or smaller). Start by folding a piece of black paper in half.

Fold it in half again.

Now cut it.

You need to cut the paper into 4 equal rectangles.

Now comes the folding part. Take 3 of the 4 rectangles and fold them as follows.

Fold in half. Unfold.

Fold one of the folds toward the center fold.

Do the same with the other one.

Now, fold both sides into the middle.

And one more time.

Open it up. You have nice even creases that will make it easy to fold this paper into an accordion shape.

Fold in accordion style, switching between valley fold and mountain fold.

Until the end.

When reaching the end, press firmly, running your fingers (or craft stick) through the folds to crisp them up.

Gently pull out to see if your accordion is okay.

Now fold them into a “strip” and fold that strip in half.

Do the same with the remaining two sheets of paper to get three accordions.

Tie 2 of the 3 accordions together.

Connect the third wire to the first two wires.

Glue them all together…

To make paper asterisks. Set aside.

Take the remaining black paper and fold it in half.

Draw a bat wing.

Cut 2 bat wings.

Cut a small slit on the wing as shown.

Fold along the cut line.

Apply glue to the incision.

And stick it on the paper rosette.

Draw two circles (we outlined the glue cap) for the eyes and teeth with a black marker.

Cut out eyes and teeth and glue them onto the paper bat craft.

Done!
