We really love making corner scrapbooks, they are great for getting kids started in the wonderful world of origami (even beginners) and there really is no limit to how you can decorate them.
Creating fun animals is our hobby (and we’ve got a collection of ideas already – just scroll down to the bottom of this tutorial to see some of them).
We thought it would be fun to make some corner bookmarks featuring farm animals, some we already have on the site and some other ideas coming soon.
This pig bookmark is next on the list and I think it’s really cute (I’m a pig fan, I really think they’re gorgeous animals).
Ready to design? Let’s make one or a dozen!
How to make a pig corner bookmark
What you need:
- 2 sheets of pink origami paper (if they have two shades of pink, all the better)
- glue
- drag
- black marker
Optional: vibrating eye patches (we love these!)

Or follow this step-by-step folding guide
Fold the origami paper in half diagonally.
If you don’t have origami paper, plain pink printer paper cut into squares will also work.
The triangle in front of you now has two layers of paper. Take the top layer at the top of the triangle and fold it towards the bottom of the triangle as shown in the image below.
Next we need to fold the corners (left and right) so that they touch the center of the bottom of the triangle.
Open both corners. The most important thing is the fold :).
Now bring them back to the corner, this time folding them towards the top of the triangle. A square will form.
Take similar “corners” and tuck them into the formed pocket.
You have the basic corner bookmark design.
Now let’s make a pig corner bookmark
Cut an oval from pink paper.
Draw two nostrils and glue the snout to the corner of the bookmark.
Draw two eyes or use vibrating eye patches.
Finally cut out two ears and glue them to the back of the bookmark in the corner.
Done! The first of many pig bookmarks is ready to decorate your favorite book.
