One way to do that is to have a fun potty! I mean who can resist one of these?
1. Cute frog potty (convenient urinal) for boys (boys sure have a great looking potty training tool, right? – I mean who can resist this!)
2. This is a frog-shaped potty for boys and girls – it sure beats the usual boring potties!
3. Who can resist potty training when there are Disney characters on their potty?
4. Ride in a fire truck – how fun is that?
5. This royal stool is suitable for a princess or prince!
Becky Mansfield from Your Modern Family, author of Going Potty in a Weekend
“We trained our four children before they were two. We find it easiest to just pick a weekend and go for it! Our children all responded well to this accelerated method so they were trained within 1-3 days. My best advice is to keep an eye out for opportunity – usually around 21 months, when there is interest and encouragement and then pursue it!”
Lena from What Do Moms
I’m the opposite of Becky, my favorite method after trying different things with 3 kids is to wait until they ask you to go potty multiple times so when you do that, they basically train themselves Train yourself for 3 days. That’s the lazy method.

The truth about potty training is not a matter of keeping children curious and interested, it’s a matter of whether or not parents are committed to actually potty training! Sure, a child must show certain signs of readiness, understanding of bowel movements, ability to express themselves, etc., but if parents can’t handle the chaos, stress, and keep having to go back to the bathroom. every 30 minutes, the underwear is messy and the floor is dirty, then they will give up and the process will take forever. Parents must be determined to educate their children. It doesn’t have to be within 3 days, but no matter what, parents need to be truly willing to commit, no matter which method they choose.

Potty training isn’t just for children. You also have to be ready. If you have two under two or more it becomes increasingly more difficult. Consider the fact that you may have to support them for at least two years until they are completely independent. Do you have the time and energy to give your child that attention? If you lose in the middle, they may also have difficulty staying consistent.

We potty trained our newborn. We don’t use curtains unless absolutely necessary and will rush to the bathroom at any sign of peeing or pooping. This method really requires you to be patient and trust me, there are a lot of accidents but it feels more natural to us. My advice to parents trying this method is to be patient, it’s natural and your child will learn.
