Reindeer Sticking out His Tongue Christmas Card

Want a Christmas card or letter to Santa that’s a little different and a little silly? Make a tongue-out reindeer Christmas card, a super cool card that’s sure to get kids writing.

You can make this using our printable template or do it yourself, either way it’s super easy.

There’s nothing better than a homemade Christmas card, and if it’s a little silly, even better.

These fun “tongue-sticking” reindeer cards will get your kids or students excited to start writing letters. First, assemble them and then write your seasonal greeting or wish list to Santa on the tongue.

The tongue is neatly folded inside the card and when you open it, you can pull it out to see the full message. Fun right?

Let’s make a Christmas card with a reindeer sticking out its tongue.

What you need:

• our printable template (optional – you can get it at the end of this tutorial)
• drag
• glue
• red, brown and white construction paper or coloring materials and pink paper

You can color in the template or use the template as a print to trace on construction/regular paper.

Follow the step-by-step instructions

Print out the template. Cut out all the pieces of the template.

Trace the head onto brown cardstock.

Cut out the image.

Draw a mouth on red paper.

Cut this image out.

Glue the mouth shape to the head shape.

Fold into 3 parts, you can fold yourself along the folds marked on the first template.

Draw a nose on red paper.

Cut, cut, cut.

You can use the eyes as they are or you can redraw the eyes on white paper and draw the details (or use black construction paper).

Eyes on the head.

Glue the nose to the head too, maybe overlapping the eyes a little.

Draw antlers on brown cardstock (preferably darker or lighter than the head).

Cut the gauze…

And stick them on your head.

Now comes the fun part.

Draw a tongue shape on pink paper (red paper can be used).

Cut out your tongue.

Apply glue to the tip of the tongue…

…Stick it inside your mouth, in the middle…

Start folding the tongue so that it fits the middle section.

…fold as many times as needed…

Stick out your tongue and write your message.

Fold it up and your Tongue Sticking Reindeer Christmas Card is ready to give to your loved ones, friends or send to Santa Claus.
